Canton, Mo. — The Central Methodist men's basketball team traveled to Canton, Missouri to face Culver-Stockton College in their final game before the Thanksgiving break.
Central defeated CS-C, 89-64, improving to 7-3 and 3-1 in conference action. The Wildcats drop to 2-7 and 0-4 in the Heart.
CMU jumped out early and maintained control throughout the contest.
Raphael Gay led the Eagles with 26 points and 14 rebounds, showcasing dominant play in the paint with a double-double. Kevin James added 17 points, including seven-of-10 shooting from the field and two-of-four from beyond the arc.
Off the bench, Tommie Williams contributed 20 points, hitting three-of-five from three-point range and adding three rebounds. Austin Prater chipped in seven points and six boards.
The Eagles shot 59 percent from the field and 32 percent from three-point range, but only 50 percent from the charity stripe.
Central outrebounded CS-C on the glass, 36-30, and held them to 39.7 percent shooting from the floor.
CMU is off for the Thanksgiving break, and will next host Missouri Valley College Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
