Bowling Competes at Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge

Lawrence, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's and Women's Bowling programs took part in the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge hosted by Baker University over the weekend in Lawrence, Kansas. 

The CMU men placed ninth out of 17 teams while the women finished 12th out of 14 teams. 

The women bowled a team total of 3614 and a Baker total of 2180 for a final tally of 5794 in the qualifying rounds. 

The varsity men bowled a team total of 4495 and a Baker total of 3311 in qualifying for an overall total of 7806.

For the women, Savannah Rutar was Central's highest finisher, placing 24th with a five game total of 851. Maya Elliott followed, finishing 38th with a five game total of 775. 

Emma Kitchens (49th - 682), Kathryn Chappell (72nd - 512), Alayna Abernathy (81st - 421 - three games), Alexis Livesay (92nd - 255 - two games), and Lauren Williams (101st - 118 - one game) also bowled for the Eagles. 

For the men, Chase Schnieders posted a Top 25 finish with a total of 1,1016. Jordan Shepard landed inside the Top 30 at 28th with a score of 1,007. His best frame came in the fifth, where he bowled a 247. 

Lane Hook (72nd - 908), Lukas Heldenbrand (82nd - 891), Cole Clayton (83rd - 886), Hayden Johnson (88th - 872), Garrison Parkhurst (100th - 840), Branden Groce (105th - 830), Ethan Duffman-Rode (174th - 496 - three games), Declan White (181st - 448 - three games), Adrian Wright - 354 - two games), Takudswa Mukonzamariro (215th - 159 - one game), and Hunter Scott (220 - 150 - one game) also competed for CMU. 

Both programs will next compete in the Lindenwood Classic beginning Saturday, Nov. 1 at St. Charles Lanes in St. Charles, Missouri.
