Central Methodist University sophomore Ty Lieberman (Boonville, Mo.) was recognized as the Heart of America Athletic Conference men's golfer-of-the-week after opening the season with a career-best tournament at the William Woods Fall Invitational last week.

Lieberman shot a personal-best three-under par 69 to hold the lead after the first day of the William Woods tournament. After shooting a 76 on day two, Lieberman finished in a tie for sixth in the individual standings, just four strokes out of first place. Lieberman's two-round total of 145 was also a career-best for him, and helped lead the Central Methodist men's golf team to a third-place team finish in the Eagles' first tournament of the season.
