BOONVILLE, Mo. - Central Methodist finished fifth in the Eagle Open on Tuesday at Hail Ridge Golf Course, while its "B" team placed eighth. The Eagles "A" team carded a 462 (306-156) on the Par-71, 6,516-yard course, and the "B" team posted a 493 (331-162).
Because play yesterday was canceled due to rain, the teams played 27 holes on Tuesday, with 18 coming in the first round and nine in the second. The men's teams played the back nine of the course in the final round.
For the Eagles "A" team, Trevor Cooley tied for 17th overall with a 115 (75-40). Ty Lieberman tied for 21st with a 116 (78-38). Austin Rapp tied for 25th after recording a 117 (77-40). Brendan Ross tied for 27th with a 118 (76-42). Ryan Rost was 35th with a 123 (85-38).
Leading the way for the Central Methodist "B" squad was Travis Tompson, finishing tied for ninth overall after shooting a 112 (74-38). Kyle Nolawski tied for 25th with a 117 (78-39). Greg Pitzer was tied for 40th with a 130 (90-40). Jordan Haag came in 44th with a 134 (89-45). Kyle Schenewerk placed 48th after scoring a 161 (107-54).
Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) won the team portion of the Open with a 428 (285-143). The Wolves' Justin Doeden won the individual championship with a 103 (68-35).
Central Methodist participates in the Heart of America Athletic Conference championship April 28-29 at Indian Hills Golf Course in Marshall, Mo.
