Boonville, Mo. The Central Methodist University's men's golf team won the CMU Eagles Fall Invite by a stroke over William Penn University on Wednesday afternoon. Individually Jacob Williams won the invite with his low score of 143 for the two rounds of play.

"We did very well," said CMU head coach Jim Ray Kluck. "Jacob Williams, who we had playing in our four spot shoots a 143 total for two days, which is an excellent score. Nick Phelps had a very good tournament as well. He improved his score by five strokes on the second day. We are a pretty good team."

Other schools that participated in the invite included Baker University, Crowley Ridge College, Evangel University, and William Penn University.

Jacob Williams led CMU on day one with a 70, and he backed that score up with a second best 73 for CMU on Wednesday. Nick Phelps who finished tied for second in the invite, fired a round of 71 on Wednesday; which was the lowest round by an Eagle.
