Springfield, Mo. The Central Methodist University's men's golf team opened up their 2016 spring season on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at the Evangel Spring Invitational, hosted by Evangel University at the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri.

The Eagles struggled on Friday afternoon, finishing with a total team score of 340. CMU finished in sixth place out of six schools on Friday. William Penn finished just ahead of CMU, with a first day combined score of 325. Lindenwood-Belleville led after round one, with a total score of 309.

Things got a little better for the Eagles on day two, as they would improve their score and finish with a total of 326. However, their round two finish was not strong enough, and CMU finished in last place with a total score of 666.

Lindenwood-Belleville won the Evangel Spring Invite, finishing just four over par, with a combined score of 292 on day two. The Lynx finished with a total score of 601.

The Eagle men's golf team return to action on March 28^th and 29^th in Kansas City, Missouri for the Avila Invitational, hosted by conference rival Avila University.
