Fayette, Mo. – Central Methodist University head men's and women's golf coach Jim Ray Kluck announced Tuesday, the signings of Nicki Boone (Marceline, Mo.) and Brandon Newman (Marceline, Mo.). Both Boone and Newman will join the Eagles in time for the 2016-17 seasons.
"First of all, it is a great day to be an Eagle," said CMU head coach Jim Ray Kluck. "We have added two outstanding golfers to the CMU family. Nicki Boone on the women's side, and Brandon Newman on the men's side. I believe both these golfers will be an immediate asset to our program. Both will push our other golfers for one of the top five positions."
Nicki Boone just finished her senior season at Marceline High School, where she played all four years. Boone finished as a state qualifier in both 2014 and 2015. She is the daughter of Norman Boone and Angela Taylor. Nicki has four siblings, Erica, Gates, Jada, and Taylor.
"I chose Central Methodist University, because they have a good nursing and music program," said Nicki Boone. "I also am excited about the golf opportunities that have been offered to me at CMU."
Brandon Newman like Nikki Boone, just finished his senior season at Marceline High School. Newman also played all four years in high school. He was a four-time state qualifier, a two-time team MVP, and finished his freshman season with the lowest score average. Brandon is an only child and his parents are Jerry Newman and Ranee Gann-Newman.
"I chose Central Methodist University, because it was close to home and it would allow me to remain close to my family," said Brandon Newman.
