MARSHALL, Mo. – Central Methodist University senior Jamie Gisburne (SR/Arlington, Tex.) (pictured below) shot a two-day 182 and senior teammate Hannah Clark (SR/Kansas City, Kan.) posted a 189 on Tuesday as the Eagle women's golf team placed third at the Missouri Valley College Spring Invitational at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
The CMU men's team was led by Kyle Sachs (FR/Troy, Mo.) (pictured below), who posted a two-round score of 154 to tie for 11th place overall and help the Eagle men's squad to a fifth-place finish.

Missouri Valley College won the overall women's competition, shooting a 154-over-par 730 and winning the event by 47 strokes. Hannibal-LaGrange University placed second with a 777, followed by CMU with a 793. The Eagles finished 16 strokes behind HLGU. Stephens College took fourth place with a 994.
In the men's team race, Missouri Valley posted an even-576 to take top honors and winning the tournament by 18 strokes over the Missouri Valley "B" team, which shot a 594. Central Baptist College placed third with a 21-over-par 597, finishing three strokes behind MVC "B". Evangel University placed fourth with a 40-over-par 616, followed by Central Methodist (624), which completed the tourney eight strokes behind EU. Missouri Valley "C" shot a 628 for sixth, followed by Missouri Valley "D", which finished with a 647.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Gisburne placed sixth in the individual race, finishing one stroke behind Hannibal-LaGrange's Lynzie Emerson (181), three strokes behind HLGU's Julianna Brown (179). Emma Sperry of Missouri Valley won the medalist competition with a 166, followed by teammate Mariah Farden, who shot a 174.
Clark placed seventh with a two-round total of 189, finishing seven strokes behind Gisburne. CMU's Alexis Hagemeyer placed 12th with a 205, while Devin Henderson (FR/Branson, Mo.) posted the 14th-best score of 215. The Eagles' Kaitlyn Rogers (JR/Carl Junction, Mo.) placed 15th with a 220 and Alex Fjeseth (JR/Nixa, Mo.) shot a 227 for Central Methodist.
MEN'S RECAP
Sachs led the CMU men, followed by Greg Pitzer (SR/Louisiana, Mo.), who shot a 157 to tie for 21st. The Eagles' Brendan Ross (SR/Louisiana, Mo.) and Ryan Rost (SR/Linn, Mo.) shot identical 158 scores to tie for 24th. Eric Vander Linden (SO/Boonville, Mo.) tied for 28th with a 160. Andrew Woolridge shot a 175 for the Eagles.
Missouri Valley's Kaz Sakai won the individual honors with a 3-under-par 141. He was followed by Central Baptist College's Austin Harmon, who shot a 1-under-par 143 and Missouri Valley's Robert Cull, who shot an even-144 to place third.
WHAT'S UP NEXT FOR CMU GOLF?
The Central Methodist golf teams will travel to Lawrence, Kan. on April 10-11 for the Baker University Invitational at Eagle Bend Golf Course. The teams will then host the Spring Central Methodist University Spring Open on April 24-25 at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo.
