LAWRENCE, Kan. – Central Methodist University women's golfer Hannah Clark (SR/Kansas City, Kan.) shot rounds of 88 and 86 at the Baker University Spring Invitational and finished the tourney in 12th place on Tuesday at Eagle Bend Golf Course. The CMU women placed fifth in the event, shooting a two-round total of 770. The Eagle men's team placed 10th at the tournament, posting a three-round total of 992.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Columbia College won the five-team women's field, shooting an 82-over-par 658. Grand View University was five shots back with a 663, while Baker University placed third with a 686 and Ottawa posted a 751 to come in fourth.
Maria Mantilla and Kimberly Nelson of Grand View tied for the individual championship with identical 13-over-par 157 scores. Three Columbia College golfers finished third and in a tie for fourth.
Clark (pictured at right) led the Eagle golfers, followed by Jamie Gisburne (SR/Arlington, Tex.) in 20th place with a 188, Alex Fjeseth (JR/Nixa, Mo.) in 26th with a 200, and Alexis Hagemeyer and Devin Henderson (FR/Branson, Mo.) tied for 28th place with identical 211 scores. Kaitlyn Rogers (JR/Carl Junction, Mo.) placed 30th with a 213.
MEN'S RECAP
William Penn won the men's team competition, shooting a three-round 888, which was 24-over-par. Evangel University was 22 shots behind with a 46-over-par 910. Graceland University placed third with a 911 and Columbia came in fourth with a 925.
Zachary Chegwidden of William Penn University won the individual competition with a 6-under-par 210 in the three-round affair. Grant Shorty of Haskell Indian Nations and Grant Siefried of Evangel tied for second with identical 6-over-par 222 scores.
Ryan Rost (SR/Linn, Mo.) led Central Methodist with a 38th-place finish and a 28-over-par 244. Kyle Sachs (FR/Troy, Mo.) placed 40th with a 29-over-par 245. CMU's Greg Pitzer (SR/Louisiana, Mo.) placed 46th with a 253, Brendan Ross (SR/Louisiana, Mo.) generated a 255, for 50th and Eric Vander Linden (SO/Boonville, Mo.) placed 51st with a 260. Braden Campbell (FR/Strafford, Mo.) placed 56 with a 266 and Andrew Wooldridge (SO/Columbia, Mo.) tied for 58th with a 276.
WHAT'S UP NEXT FOR CMU GOLF?
The Central Methodist golf teams will take off next week before hosting the Spring Central Methodist University Spring Open on April 24-25 at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo.
