Quincy, Ill. - The Central Methodist Men's Golf team earned a first-place finish at the Wildcat Fall Classic this past week in Quincy, Illinois.
It is their second-place tournament championship of the fall season, as they also won the Missouri Valley Fall Invitational in early September.
The two-day tournament in Quincy featured 31 golfers from five different institutions. Central won the tournament with a two-round score of 609, 46 strokes better than second place. University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy of St Louis placed second (655), followed by Culver-Stockton in third (660).
Individually, four of Central's golfers landed in the Top 5, led by Cylas Worley (151) who just edged teammate Garrett Rikel (151) in a playoff hole for first place.
Cole Wiese finished third with a two-round score of 153 while Carter Jackson tied for fourth with a score of 154. Both Rikel and Jackson posted single round scores of 73 in the first round of play, the best of the two-day tournament.
Brock Jenkins (13th - 169) and Keenan James (20th - 177) also competed for the Eagles.
Central will next compete at the Railwood Open beginning Monday, Oct. 21 at Railwood Golf Club in Holts Summit, Missouri.
