Hannibal-LaGrange scored a pair of goals in the first 12 minutes of the game to take an early 2-0 lead, which it maintained through the remainder of the first half. Freshman Blake Wenzel (Jefferson City, Mo.) took a solid shot at the end of the first half, but Hannibal-LaGrange's goalkeeper made a great save to keep the score at 2-0.
In the second half, the Trojans scored two more goals in the first 11 minutes to extend their lead to 4-0. In the 58th minute, CMU got on the scoreboard when junior Cesar Golfetti (Sao Paulo, Brazil) took a pass from freshman Joaquin Walker (Santiago, Chile) and passed it across the face of the goal to junior Murun Altankhuyag (Mongolia), who headed the ball into the net for his first goal of the season.
Hannibal-LaGrange out-shot CMU 34-15, including 11-8 in shots on goal. Junior Corey Schelle (Godfrey, Ill.) played nearly 55 minutes in goal for CMU, recording three saves. Freshman Kyle Yocks (Belleville, Ill.) played the final 35 minutes in goal, posting four saves.
Central Methodist dropped to 4-2 on the season with the loss, while Hannibal-LaGrange improved to 6-2. The Eagles will try to begin a new win streak Wednesday when they travel to Leavenworth, Kan., to face University of St. Mary in a 5 p.m. game.
