MidAmerica Nazarene took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute, and the two teams played scoreless the remainder of the contest. The Eagles were out-shot 14-7 in the game, including 11-3 in the second half, but were out-shot just 6-5 in shots on goal. Junior Corey Schelle (Godfrey, Ill.) recorded five saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal for CMU.
Central Methodist dropped to 8-6 on the season and 1-4 in the HAAC with the loss, while the Pioneers improved to 9-6-1 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Eagles will have a week to prepare for their next game. CMU will travel to Lamoni, Iowa, to take on Graceland University in another HAAC game at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29.
