FAYETTE, Mo. - Two first-half goals lifted No. 12 Missouri Valley to a 2-0 Heart of America Athletic Conference win over Central Methodist on Wednesday evening at Davis Field.

Nicholas Alexander scored both goals for Missouri Valley (9-2-1, 2-1), with the first coming in the 17th minute on an assist from Albaro Diaz Hidalgo. Raul Beneit found Alexander in the 42nd minute for an insurance goal.

Guilherme Frota tallied three shots on goal to lead Central Methodist (6-5-1, 0-3), which outshot the Vikings 18-10 overall and 13-5 in the first 45 minutes. Joao Paulo Cappellanes and Ricardo Valsien each had one shot on goal.

Missouri Valley goalkeeper Christos Kontemiris made four saves.

Eagles' netminder German Schacht recorded four saves.

Central Methodist travels to Avila (Mo.) on Sunday, Oct. 13. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
