KANSAS CITY - Trent Nichol scored a pair of goals Sunday to lift Avila (Mo.) over Central Methodist, 2-0, in Heart of America Athletic Conference action at the Zarda Multisport Complex.

Nichol broke a scoreless tie in the 83rd minute for Avila (5-9, 1-3) with an assist from Mike Hufker. Nichol added an unassisted insurance goal in the 89th minute.

Federico Morano, Daniel Vieira, Guilherme Frota and Guilherme da Silveira each had one shot on goal for Central Methodist (6-6-1, 0-4), which outshot Avila 9-7.

Avila netminder Jesus Revilla recorded three saves in 90 minutes.

Central Methodist goalkeeper German Schacht made three saves in 90 minutes.

Central Methodist hosts Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Kickoff from Davis Field is set for 6 p.m. CT.
