HANNIBAL, Mo. - A golden goal in the 101st minute of double overtime lifted Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) to a 3-2 win over Central Methodist on Saturday afternoon at Pitney Field.
Guilherme da Silveira gave Central Methodist (3-3) a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute, but Hannibal-LaGrange (2-3) countered with goals in the 29th minute by Joao Junqueira�and 49th minute from Nathan Sapp for a 2-1 edge.�
Tyler Neis tied the game for the Eagles in the 82nd minute on an assist from Daniel Arrazola, but Sapp scored his second goal of the match in extra time with help from Junqueira.
Junior Odilon and Manuel Saez each had one assist for the Trojans.
Goalkeeper Daniel Finkle (2-3) played the full match and made five saves in the win.
Carlos Ribera played the first half in net for the Green and Black, making five saves. Andrew Bare (0-1) saw the remainder of the action in goal, making three saves.
The Eagles host Ottawa (Kan.) on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. CT.
