FAYETTE, Mo. - Central Methodist got five goals from five different Eagles, and goalkeeper Carlos Ribera recorded his third clean sheet this season in a 5-0 win over Ottawa (Kan.) on Saturday at Davis Field.
Daniel Arrazola blasted his fourth goal of the season into the net top shelf on a free kick from 35 yards out to give Central Methodist (4-3) a 1-0 advantage in the 30th minute. Rodrigo Buitrago split two Ottawa (0-7) defenders before finding Jarrid Hamilton standing in front of the net by himself, and the midfielder scored his second goal this year with 26 seconds left in the first half for a 2-0 lead.
Tyler Neis found Buitrago on a cross, who blasted a one-timer in the 64th minute from 10 yards out to make the score 3-0. The goal was Buitrago's first in 2014.
Neis added his name to the goal-scoring column in the 75th minute with help from Luis Costa. The goal was Neis' seventh this season.
Nicolas Vallejos ended the scoring in the 81st minute with his second goal this season.
Ribera (4-2) made two saves in 90 minutes of action.
Braves' netminder Mark Bleich (0-5) recorded four saves in 73:33. Dariusz Aitkenhead played the final in net.
Central Methodist outshot Ottawa 17-6 and held an edge in corner kicks 6-3.
The Eagles host St. Louis Pharmacy (Mo.) on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. CT.
