DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that Central Methodist seniors Luis Costa and Carlos Ribera are among 413 men's soccer student-athletes that have been named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.�
Costa, a midfielder from Sao Paulo, Brazil, has a 3.73 grade point average (GPA).
Ribera, a goalkeeper from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, sports a 3.51 grade point average (GPA).
Costa and Ribera are business majors.
Great Falls (Mont.) and Hastings (Neb.) lead all institutions with nine individuals each on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
