Fayette, Mo. Central Methodist University men's soccer defensemen David Hillmann (Northampton, London, England) was named The Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last week.

"David (Hillmann) has stepped up for our team in a big way and we expect that to continue," said CMU head coach Alex Nichols. "His player of the week award is certainly deserved and we know he is striving to get better day in and day out which is imperative for David and our team. Our competition only gets stronger throughout the year, so we are looking forward to seeing David improve and looking forward to all of our players stepping up and taking us to the next level."��

David Hillmann played in two matches last week, one at Mount Mercy University and one at home against Bethel (Kan.) College. Hillmann scored both goals in his team's 2-1 victory to open the season last week at Mount Mercy. Hillmann added his third goal of the season and an assist in the team's 4-0 shutout of Bethel College to open the home portion of their schedule last Friday.

Hillmann is a 6'6" freshman from London, England. Hillmann began playing defense for CMU, but will now make the switch to the offensive side of the ball.

The Eagles are next in action tomorrow (Tuesday), when they head out on the road to face Ottawa University at 5pm. CMU returns home this Friday to host Hannibal-LaGrange College at 5pm at Davis Field.
