Ottawa, Kan. The Central Methodist University Eagles men's soccer team improved to 3-0-0 on the season with their 2-0 shutout on the road against the Ottawa Braves in Ottawa, Kansas.

With the victory, the Eagles improve to 3-0-0, while Ottawa falls to 0-4-0 on the year.

"Tonight was a good win for our team," said CMU head coach Alex Nichols. "Ottawa is yet to get a win, but they are in every game and have only played top opponents."

Reigning conference player of the week David Hillmann got the scoring started for the Eagles on Tuesday evening, finding the back of the net for his team leading fourth goal in the games fifth minute. The goal was assisted by Rodrigo Buitrago and Rafael Ortiz-Ferreira.

After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, CMU struck for an early goal to start the second half by Richard Osterloh, to extend the lead to 2-0. The goal was assisted by Andres Manuel-Chalbaud.

Cameron Metcalfe picked up the victory in goal for the Eagles, earning the shutout by stopping both shots he faced in all 90 minutes of action.

The Eagles return home this Friday to host Hannibal-LaGrange at 5pm at Davis Field.

"We play without question the best opponent that we have faced this Friday," said Nichols. "Hannibal-LaGrange is always a top team when it comes to men's soccer. They are very talented, so we need to show up on all levels Friday."
