Men's Soccer Wins Thriller Against William Woods
Fayette, Mo. The Central Methodist University men's soccer team played a tough and undefeated team in William Woods University on Wednesday evening at Davis Field in Fayette. It was a hard fought aggressive match, but in the end, the Eagles came out victorious 1-0 in overtime.

With the victory, Central Methodist University moves to 4-0-1 on the season, while the William Woods Owls suffer their first loss of the season and see their record move to 3-1-0 on the year.

Even though Wednesday's game only produced one goal, there were still a ton of highlights from the action packed game. In all, there were 42 fouls combined between the Eagles on Owls. There were also a bunch of cards, with a total of nine yellow cards handed out and one red card to the Owls.

90 minutes proved to not be enough, as the teams required overtime. In the first ten minute overtime period, Gareth James slipped one past the Owls goalkeeper Connor Cable to secure the 1-0 victory for the Eagles.

In net for CMU on Wednesday was both Ferran Boras-Marques and Cameron Metcalfe. The two combined for three saves in the shutout victory.

Offensively, the Eagles outshot the Owls 16-4.
