With the victory, Central Methodist improves to 7-1-2 on the season, while Saint Mary falls to 3-5 on the year.

Saturday's non-conference showdown was a close one in the first half. CMU got on the board first in the 21st minute on a goal from Guilherme Gallucci, to take a 1-0 lead.

That lead would hold into halftime, before the barrage of goals in the second half.

Central Methodist did not waste any time in the second half, as Daniel Tesoro scored in the 47th minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.

CMU would then add two more goals in the 54th and 67th minute by Andres Manuel-Chalbaud and Jarrid Hamilton. Manuel-Chalbaud finished the contest with a team high seven shots, three of which were on goal.

But like their match earlier in the week against Missouri Valley, CMU would surrender a pair of late goals to make the match look closer than it was.

With a 4-0 lead, the Eagles gave up to goals to Rodney Smith and Branden Sanchez in the 70th and 78th minutes respectively to quickly make it a 4-2 ballgame. CMU would not allow another goal and went on to win by that margin.

The Eagles outshot the Spires 34-7 and also dominated with 11 corner kicks; to zero for Saint Mary.

The Eagles return to conference play on Tuesday, when they travel to face Evangel University at 7:30pm. CMU will be playing their second match of a four match roadtrip.
