Fayette, Mo. - The No. 2 Central Methodist men's soccer team used three first-half goals in the opening 12 minutes to cruise past Culver-Stockton College, 5-0, Wednesday night at Davis Field. 

The Eagles keep their record at a perfect 4-0 including a 1-0 mark in Heart play. The Wildcats fall to 2-3 and 0-1 in conference play. 

The opening 12 minutes of the game featured three goals from the Eagles. Freshman forward Stefano Campisi started the scoring early off an unassisted goal at the 2:34 mark of the first half. Let than six minutes later, Alessandro Salvadego found the back of the net for his third goal of the season on a cross from Campisi. 

Leading 2-0, senior forward Marcos German scored off a ball from Isaac Johnson at the 12:35 mark, pushing Central's lead to 3-0. 

The Eagles would get one more score in the first half, as a deflection in the box found the feet of Christian Sanchez, who put the ball in the back of the net. Central would take a 4-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. 

Central padded its lead in the 57th minute, as Vitor Antelo scored his first goal of the season from Victor Luengo. The CMU defense held CS-C off the score sheet, posting its fourth straight shutout of the season. 

The Eagles finished the match with 24 total shots on goal compared to just five for the Wildcats. Salvadego led the offensive charge with eight shots, four shots on goal, including the opening score of the match. 

The duo of Sanchez and Theo Klein tallied four shots apiece, while Campisi added two shots including his first goal of 2021. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Stefano Camerlengo earned his fourth win between the posts, recording a clean sheet and three saves.

Central heads back out on the road to face the Mount Mercy Mustangs Saturday, Sept. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
