Balanced Scoring Attack Leads Eagles Past Jimmies Saturday Night

Fayette, Mo. - Behind a balanced scoring attack from five different goal scorers, the Central Methodist Men's Soccer team defeated Jamestown University 5-0 Saturday evening at Davis Field.

The Eagles remain undefeated, improving their overall record to 5-0. Jamestown falls to 1-2-1.

Central's offense exploded for four first half goals, beginning with Altin Shabi in the sixth minute of play. Vincent Stegmiller followed less than 12 minutes later with a score to push Central's lead to 2-0.

Martin O'Toole and Ilhan Dervisevic scored back-to-back goals in a three minute span in the closing moments of the first half, extending Central's lead to 4-0 at the halftime break.

Alvin Brämhagen broke through in the 73rd minute to put the finishing touches on the match with a score.

As a team, Central finished with 19 shots including 14 shots on goal. Jamestown tallied 12 shots but only put five on frame.

Matheus Storck led the Eagles with four shots, with all four coming on goal. He also dished out an assist in the win. Brämhagen followed with three shots and a goal.

Reigning Heart Defensive Player of the Week Niccolo Cabras played the first 45 minutes in goal, tallying three saves in the win. Morris Van Tuinen played the final 45 and made two saves to preserve the clean sheet.

Central remains at home and will host Hannibal-LaGrange Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Davis Field.
