Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer team came away with a 1-1 draw against Mount Mercy University Sunday evening at Davis Field. 

Central now stands at 8-3-5 and 5-2-4 in the Heart of America. Mount Mercy moves to 7-5-4 and 4-4-3 in conference action. 

Despite CMU outshooting Mount Mercy in the first half 7-1, neither side was able to find the back of the net. MMU scored the first goal of the match in the 54th minute on a low cross that was deflected off the post. 

Despite the setback, Central's offense continued to create chances, finishing the second half with 11 shots. Senior Koen Schimmel found the equalizer on a header in the 68th minute with the assist coming from Giulian Medaglia. 

Both sides were unable to score the go-ahead goal, as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. 

CMU finished the night with 18 total shots including seven shots on goal, compared to just four shots and one on goal for Mount Mercy. 

The Eagles remain at home to host Park University Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. for Senior Night.
