Fayette, Mo. - Under first year Head Coach Sam Schmitz, the Central Methodist Men's Wrestling program earned its first dual victory of the 2022-23 season, defeating Missouri Baptist 42-7 Wednesday night inside Puckett Field House.
Following a forfeit by Missouri Baptist in the 125 pound weight class, Jason Shaw earned a victory in the 133 pound weight bout by Fall. The Spartans then rattled off two straight wins at 141 and 149 pounds.
Central would cruise from there on out, winning the final six bouts, including a 7-5 overtime decision from Justin McEnaney at 174 pounds. The final three duals came via Fall, highlighted by a pin from Brenden Shelton in just 46 seconds at 285 pounds.
The Eagles will next travel to Baldwin City, Kan. to compete in the Dan Harris Open Sunday, Nov. 6 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
