Fayette, Mo. - Returning to their first competition since December, the Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team shut out Iowa Wesleyan in a conference dual 49-0 Tuesday night inside Puckett Field House.
It marks the Eagles first dual shut out win in program history.
Sophomore 125 pounder Colton King got the night started with a victory by Fall of No. 23 nationally ranked Lane Scorpil. No. 12 Jason Shaw and Mitchell Huber also defeated their opponents by Fall in the 133 and 141-pound match.
Following a 10-3 Decision for Xavien Jackson at 149, junior Lukas Eagle defeated Brent Ward in Sudden Victory 7-5, pushing the team score to 24-0 in favor of CMU.
At 165-pounds, Donald Griffin earned a convincing 13-4 Major Decision victory over Jesus Diaz. Following a 9-2 win for Jake Henson at 174 pounds, Sincere Hall-Osborne, Elijah Hynes, and No. 20 nationally ranked Brenden Shelton all defeated their opponents via pin to close the dual out.
Central will next compete in the Raven Duals, hosted by Benedictine College Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9:00 a.m. in Atchison, Kan.
