Fayette, Mo. - The (RV) Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team hosted a pair of high caliber teams in No. 1 nationally ranked Grand View and (RV) Avila University Wednesday night inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles fell to the Vikings by a final score of 49-0 in the first dual, before defeating Avila in the final dual of the night 29-19.
Against Avila, Konnor Wright picked up the first win for CMU at 133 pounds in a 9-3 decision. Charlie Fitzgerald added the second win of the dual with an 11-5 decision at 141 pounds.
Following a defeat at 149 pounds, the Eagles won three-straight matches, beginning with a Tech Fall victory for James Griffin in the 157-pound bout followed by back-to-back forfeits.
Junior Cameron Cornman earned the final win of the night for Central, pinning his opponent in 2:04 to seal the dual victory.
CMU will remain at home to host William Penn Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
