Park City, Kan. - It was a historic weekend for the Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team, who concluded their season at the 2025 NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championships in Park City, Kansas.
The three-day tournament was held in Hartman Arena, and featured 280 wrestlers from numerous schools from across the country.
Central sent five grapplers to the national tournament in Arojae Hart (133), Donald James Griffin (157), Roman Garcia (174), Sincere Hall-Osbourne (184), and Austin Foye (285).
At the conclusion of the tournament, CMU produced three All-Americans and a pair of National Runner Up finishes.
Griffin entered the national tournament as the No. 1 seed in the 157 pound bracket. The senior from St. Louis received a bye in the first round, before rattling off three consecutive wins to advance to the national title match.
Griffin survived a scare in the quarterfinals, as he defeated Fabian Padilla of Life University by sudden victory, 4-1. After knocking off No. 4 Aden Graves of Providence, 5-2, Griffin would square off against No. 3 seed David Rubio in the championship match.
Griffin would ultimately fall to Rubio by an 11-1 Major Decision, finishing as national runner up and earning All-America honors.
Foye made a splash in his second-ever national tournament appearance, as the No. 11 seed began his championship run with back-to-back pins in the first and second rounds of the 285 pound bracket.
The sophomore from Naples, Florida then upset the No. 3 and No. 2 seeds in the quarterfinals and semifinals to punch his ticket to the championship match.
In the quarters, Foye pinned No. 3 Antonio Garcia of Corban in the third period. He followed that up with a thrilling semifinal win over No. 2 Earnest Johnson of Life by sudden victory, 4-1.
Foye had the tall task of knocking off No. 1 seed and defending national champion Gage Braun of Southeastern in the title match. Foye was unable to complete the upset, falling to Braun by a 9-0 Major Decision.
He joined Griffin as national runner-up at 285 pounds and earned All-America honors for the firs time in his career. Both Foye and Griffin are Central's first-ever national finalists.
Garcia became a two-time All-American at 174 pounds after finishing the tournament with a 4-2 record. He capped his tournament with a seventh place finish after defeating Trace Braun of Southeastern by a 14-2 Major Decision in the 7th/8th place match.
Hall-Osbourne came in as the No. 9 seed at 184 pounds and began his tournament run with a pair of wins on day one. He dropped his quarterfinal match against No. 1 seed and eventual champion JD Perez (Life) via a third period pin.
Hall-Osbourne moved to the consolation side of the bracket, where he came up just short, falling to Rylin Burns (Montana State - Northern) by a high scoring Decision, 11-8.
Hart competed in two matches at 133 pounds on day one, falling in both to conclude his tournament run.
As a team, Central finished 10th in the final team standings with 51.5 total points. It marks the highest finish for the team in program history.
