Columbia, Mo. - The No. 12 Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team opened the 2025-26 season at the Missouri Duals Sunday on the campus of the University of Missouri in Columbia. 

 

Central took on NCAA Division II Maryville, then Central Missouri, before closing out the duals against host school Missouri. 

 

Against the Saints, Gavin Alexander, Arojae Hart, and Alex Walker rattled off three consecutive wins at 133, 141, and 149 pounds to give Central its nine points. 

 

Roman Garcia, Cameron Cornman, and Garine Gibson all secured wins in the Eagles' second dual of the day against Central Missouri at 174, 197, and 285 pounds, respectively. Garcia and Cornman each earned their wins via pin, while Gibson recorded an 8-3 decision. 

 

While Central did not record a dual win in the finale against the Tigers, returning All-Americans Roman Garcia and No. 1 nationally ranked Austin Foye fell by close decisions (4-2 and 3-1) to their opponents. 

 

CMU will next compete against Missouri Baptist in their first conference dual of the year, Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7:00 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.
