No. 12 Central Picks Up Ranked Win over No. 22 Missouri Baptist

No. 12 Central Picks Up Ranked Win over No. 22 Missouri Baptist

St. Louis, Mo. - The No. 12 Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team picked up its first dual win of the year against Heart newcomer and No. 22 nationally ranked Missouri Baptist Thursday night in St. Louis, Mo. 

Central defeated the Spartans by a final dual score of, 27-20, after coming away with five dual wins. 

Gavin Alexander earned a Tech Fall over his opponent in the 133 pound weight class to give CMU its first victory of the night. 

Following defeats at 141 and 149 pounds, the Eagles got wins from Brayden Forman and Drake Jenkins at the 157 and 165 pound weight classes respectively. 

Central's final two victories of the night came in the heavier weight classes at 184 and 197 pounds. No. 22 nationally ranked Griffin Ray pinned his opponent in the first period, while No. 6 Cameron Cornman earnd a victory via pin at the 5:28 mark. 

CMU will next compete in the Service Salute Tournament, hosted by Benedictine College Saturday, Nov. 8 in Atchison, Kansas.
