Central Methodist University head men's and women's cross country coach Evelina Slatinska was selected as the 2009 Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Coach-of-the-Year after the CMU men posted a runner-up finish at the HAAC Championships Saturday.

Under Slatinska's leadership, the Central Methodist men repeated as conference runners-up behind three-time defending champion Lindenwood University. The Eagles had two men qualify as individuals for the 2009 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships Nov. 21 in Vacouver, Wash. Slatinska is in her second year as the head cross country coach, and fourth year overall of coaching at CMU after finishing a highly decorated cross country and track career at Central Methodist that included five individual NAIA national titles.
