Three members of the Central Methodist University cross country teams were named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athletes announced Friday.

Junior Brecht Madalijns (Molenstede, Belgium), senior Emily Jahrling (Liberty, Mo.) and junior Lisa Scrivener (Peculiar, Mo.) each earned Scholar-Athlete honors for Central Methodist. Overall, 170 men and 254 women were selected from NAIA cross country runners across the nation.

In order to earn Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, an individual must be nominated by his or her coach, be of at least junior academic standing, and hold at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
