Freshman Katelyn Olvera (Marshall, Mo.) was selected as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week after a career-best performance at Saturday's Gary Stoner Invitational.

Olvera clocked a 5K time of 19 minutes, 29.13 seconds to finish ninth out of 71 runners at the meet to help CMU finish fifth as a team. Olvera's time was more than 17 seconds better than her previous career best, and moved her into 10th on Central Methodist's all-time top 5K performers list after just two 5K races in her collegiate career.
