AUBURN, Neb. - Brett Davis and Tyler Meierarend finished in the top four overall to lead Central Methodist to a second-place finish in the 2014 Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Championship, held at Auburn Country Club. The Eagles finished second with 57 points for the second year in a row.

Davis and Meierarend are headed back to Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan., for the 59th annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Davis finished second overall Saturday in the 8k race in a time of 25:52.86. Meierarend was fourth after crossing the finish line in 26:00.40. Ryan Dickson was 14th in 26:44.25. Michael Neeley was 16th in a time of 26:56.36. Austin Jones was 21st in 27:53.16. Gage Lemmon was 23rd with a time of 28:09.59. Zach Feurt rounded out the top seven Eagle finishers, placing 24th in 28:12.71.

Dickson and Neeley moved into the Eagles' all-time Top 25 with their performances Saturday.

Baker (Kan.) won the team portion with 53 points. Missouri Valley's Phillip Cheruigot�edged Davis for the top spot by 25 seconds.
