FAYETTE, Mo. – Radovan Kemboi (SO/Eldoret, Ken.) won the Eagle Invite 6K on Saturday after crossing the finish line with a time of 20:00.

He won the race by 14 seconds.

"We set a goal of having two individual winners today and we accomplished that," said Coach Mark Nelson.

As a team, Central Methodist fell to William Woods, 23-34.

Elliot Knernschield (JR/Jefferson City, Mo.) finished in fifth place with a time of 21:25. Graham Lemmons (SO/Victoria, Texas) finished seventh with a time of 21:49. Rounding out the top five for the Eagles were Anthony Giancola (SO/Sullivan, Mo.) and Trevor Roebke (JR/Strafford, Mo.), who finished in 10th and 11th place, respectively.

"We also set a goal of having a team win on the men's side, and we fell a little short on that, and that's a learning experience for us," said Nelson. "I think we can do a better job with [race strategy] next time we're out next week, so we'll get a chance to apply the lessons we learned pretty quickly."

The men's cross country team is set to race next at the Benedictine Invite on September 8.
