FAYETTE, Mo. – The Central Methodist University men's cross country program competed at the annual Gary Stoner Invitational on a breezy Saturday afternoon.
Eighty-eight racers from NAIA and NCAA programs created a highly competitive field of athletes. Radovan Kemboi (JR/Eldoret, Ken.) crossed the finish line first for CMU, recording a final time of 26:32 and finishing 8th overall and 5th out of the NAIA competitors. Elliot Knernschield (SR/Jefferson City, Mo.) was next with a time of 27:28 (22nd overall), followed by Trevor Roebke (SR/Strafford, Mo.) who clocked a time of 28:23 (35th overall).
Other finishes for the squad include:
- Joseph Bruemmer (SR/Jefferson City, Mo.) – 51st | 29:32
- Tyler Reinkemeyer (JR/Hartsburg, Mo.) – 52nd | 29:34
- Maleek Porter (FR/Warsaw, Mo. ) – 66th | 31:05
- Kaleb Bramman (FR/Hallsville, Mo. )n – 78th | 32:40
- Ryan Bennett (SR/Eldon, Mo.) – 80th | 33:26
- Ryan Spoede (SO/Warrenton, Mo.) – 83rd | 34:48
As a team, Central finished 7th out of 10 programs after posting a total time of 2:21:32 while averaging 28:18. Baker University won the competition with an average time of 26:25.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, October 26th, at the NAIA Seminole Valley Invite. The event, hosted by Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids, will begin at 11:30 AM.
