Cedar Rapids, Iowa - The Central Methodist men's and women's cross country programs took part in the highly competitive NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede Saturday morning in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The meet featured 281 total runners. Central's men finished fifth out of 21 teams, while the women placed eighth out of 19.
On the men's side, senior Radovan Kemboi posted a Top 10 finish, placing ninth in the men's 8K in a time of 26:13.1. Fellow senior Graham Lemmons ran a final time of 26:49.4, good enough for a 15th place finish.
Shawn Kiptoo placed 31st in a time of 27:32.2, followed by Ely Yoseph (50th, 28:33.1), and Jack Schiffhauer (78th, 29:22.3), who rounded out the top five runners for the Eagles.
On the women's, side Katherine Bangert was the first Eagle to cross the finish line in a time of 20:43.2, good enough to finish 30th in the 5K. Madeline Wieseman followed with a final time of 21:01.6 to finish 38th, followed by Darly Camilo (40th, 21:03.5), Claire Sykes (73rd, 22:39.17), and Kailey Johnson (70th, 24:26.6).
Missouri Baptist won the women's team title with 52 total points, while Grand View claimed the men's championship with 43 points.
The Eagles will next compete in the Benedictine XC Challenge hosted by Benedictine College Friday, Oct. 22 in Atchison, Kan.
