Ashland, Neb. - The Central Methodist Men's Cross Country team concluded its regular season at the NAIA Blazing Tiger Classic Saturday in Ashland, Nebraska.
Central was apart of a large field that consisted of more than 350 runners representing 27 different NAIA programs. Additionally, the field was stacked with ranked teams, including five in the NAIA Top 25 and four that are receiving votes.
As a team, CMU posted an 18th place finish. Kyle Newberry was the first Eagle to cross the finish line, posting an 8K time of 25:36.70 to place 41st. Grant Engel followed, finishing 63rd in a time of 25:56.52.
Doriye Jackson (135th - 26:49.99), Meshack Kiptanui (162nd - 27:13.49), Elvis Kipkosgei (211th - 27:55.04) and Jacchaeus Taylor (241st - 28:29.90) also ran for the Eagles.
College of Idaho won the team title, followed by St. Mary (Kan.), and Dordt.
The Eagles will turn their attention to the postseason, as they will next compete at the Heart of America Conference Championships Saturday, Nov. 9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
