(#24) Eagles Sweep the Wildcats

(#24) Eagles Sweep the Wildcats

(Fayette MO) The CMU Women's Basketball team posted a victory of Culver-Stockton, winning by 8 on Wednesday evening.

Lexi Moe led the Eagles, falling just short of a double double, with 25 pts and 9 rebounds. Jerica Nelson (SO/Kodiak, Alaska) and Ana Borges (JR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) also scored in double figures, scoring 16 and 14, respectively.

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, carrying a 31-19 lead after the first period. After playing even during the 2nd stanza, the Wildcats of CSC cut into the lead in the 3rd, trailing only by 6 entering the final period. The Eagles held strong, never giving up the lead, winning 77-69.

The Eagles use 50% shooting from the field in the first half to build their lead, then shot 41.2% for the game. CSC shot 35.9% for the contest.

Head Women's Basketball Coach Mike Davis was happy for the win, "We have had a tough stretch as of late, so every win tastes pretty good right now. We have Senior Night on Saturday and a chance to head into the conference tournament on a four game win streak."

The Eagles will close the regular season this weekend, hosting Evangel University Saturday for Senior Day. The ball tips at 2:00pm Saturday.
