Lawrence, Kan. - The Championship Course at Alvamar
FAYETTE, Mo. - The Central Methodist women's golf team will play in the Baker (Kan.) Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday at the par 72, 7,092-yard Championship Course at Alvamar in Lawrence, Kan. The course is also home to the Kansas Jayhawks.
Competing for Central Methodist this week on the women's side will be Allison Quigley, Alannah Hustead, Jamie Gisburne, Kaitlyn Rogers, Ashley Spaulding and Brittany Winkler.
Shotgun start is set for 8 a.m. CT. No live scoring will be available for the tournament. �Admission to golf course is free.
Alvamar's Championship Course is comprised of the Jayhawk and Quail Creek nine-hole courses. Characterized by large Bentgrass greens and flowing fairways, the parkland-style course is known for its unique combination of playability and tests of skill.�
The Championship Course at Alvamar has hosted a number of significant championships over the years, including the Kansas Open, the USGA Women's Public Links Championship, the Big Eight & Big Twelve Championships, and numerous Kansas Golf Association and Midwest Section PGA Championships. �Alvamar was the very first golf course in the world constructed with zoysia grass fairways.�
