Eagle Women Finish 6th At CC Cougar Classic

Columbia, Mo. – The Central Methodist University women's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of their 2016-17 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, with a sixth place finish at the Columbia College Cougar Classic, as the Columbia Country Club.

The Eagles were led by Hannah Clark (SR/Kansas City, Kan.), who finished in 18th place. Clark fired a 90 both days, to finish 34 strokes over par.

Jamie Gisburne (SR/Arlington, Tex.) finished in 34th place, while Alexis Hagemeyer improved her stroke total by three to finish in a tie for 36th place. Alex Fjeseth (JR/Nixa, Mo.) finished in a tie for 40th place, and Devin Henderson (FR/Branson, Mo.) was forced to withdraw from competition on Tuesday.

Overall as a team, William Woods blasted the competition by over 60 strokes, finishing in first place at 36 strokes over par. The next closest team, was the hosts' Columbia College, at 99 strokes over par. Individually, William Woods earned the first second, and third place medals, with Katie Warren taking the classic championship by one stroke over her teammate Fumika Matsumoto. Warren finished four over par, while Matsumoto finished five strokes over par.
