OSKALOOSA, Iowa - Four members of the Central Methodist University women's golf team either equaled or bettered their score from Monday's opening round on Tuesday, as the Eagles shot a 746 and finished in ninth place at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament played at Edmundson Golf Course.
Eagle Hannah Clark (SR/Kansas City, Kan.) (pictured) improved her score by two strokes in the final round, shooting a 28-over-par 170 for the tournament, finishing in 16 place in the medalist competition.
William Penn University captured the Heart team championship with a 39-over-par 607 in the two-day tourney. Grand View University was a distant second, shooting an 87-over-par 655. The Vikings finished 48 strokes behind WPU.
Baker University grabbed third place in the tournament, posting a 109-over-par 677. Peru State College placed fourth with a 687, Mount Mercy University was fifth with a 692, Missouri Valley College shot a 725 to take sixth, Avila University was seventh with a 726 and Clarke shot a 733 for eighth place.
Kimberly Nelson of Grand View captured medalist honors with an 8-over-par 150 for the tournament. Jodi Saito of William Penn was a close second in the individual competition with a 9-over-par 151, while Miranda Keeler and Helene Larsen of WPU tied for third with identical 10-over-par 152 scores. Maria Mantilla of GVU rounded out the top five with a 12-over-par 154.
CMU's Jamie Gisburne (SR/Arlington, Tex.) posted a 183 for the two-day league tournament to finish in 33rd place. Alex Fjeseth (JR/Nixa, Mo.) improved her second-day performance by nine strokes to post a 195 for the tourney and placed 43rd. Alexis Hagemeyer placed 45th with a two-day score of 198. Devin Henderson (FR/Branson, Mo.) posted a 212 to finish 50th.
