Nixa, Mo. - The Central Methodist men's and women's golf programs each finished in third place at the 2021 Evangel Spring Invitational, hosted by Evangel University Tuesday in Nixa, Mo.
Freshman Cassandra Contreras claimed the individual title on the women's side, posting a two day total of 166, six strokes better than the second place finisher. Alea Andrade fired a two round total of 198, good enough for 13th place.
Rounding out the Top-5 Eagles were Lauren DuVall, Bailey Stefanski, and Ashley Ritter.
As a team, Central finished third with a team score of 801. Kansas Wesleyan won the team championship with a total of 709, followed by College of the Ozarks (785).
For the men, Mattias Baccola finished in a tie for second place with a two day total of 145, after firing rounds of 71 and 74. Baccola just finished one stroke behind first place.
Freshman Aaron Teece concluded the event with a top 10 finish with a two day total of 155. Following Teece were Nzelu Maitha (T14), Tiago Swart (T17), and Trace Brown (T36).
The men also claimed a third place finish with a final team score of 619. Host Evangel University won the team title (610), followed by Kirkwood Community College (612).
