Boonville, Mo. - The Central Methodist men's and women's golf programs hosted their first home meet since returning as a program this season on Monday afternoon at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo. The men posted a second place finish while the women finished third.
On the women's side, Cassandra Contreras posted a second place finish with a single round total of 73, while teammate Alea Andrade finished fourth with a score of 80. Bailey Stefanski , Lauren DuVall, Erika Whitaker, and Natasha Provinse also competed for the Eagles.
Maria Zrodowska of William Woods was the individual winner (72) and the Owls won the team title with an overall score of 319. William Penn finished in second place (332), followed by Cetral Methodist (350), and Evangel (372).
For the men, junior Matias Baccola finished one stroke shy of the top spot, firing rounds of 74 and 69 for a two round score of 143. Tiago Swart finished in fifth place with a total score of 147. Trace Brown also had an impressive showing, with identical rounds of 74.
Aaron Teece and Nzelu Maitha also competed for Central's varsity squad. Logan Smith of William Woods won the individual title with a score of 142. The Owls also claimed the team championship, followed by CMU (592), and Missouri Valley (614).
