Boonville, Mo. – The Central Methodist men's and women's golf teams turned in a solid day of individual performances at the CMU Reserve Spring Invitational, held Thursday at Hail Ridge Golf Course. The event featured a single round of competition with no team scoring, as all golfers competed as individuals.
On the men's side, Central was led by Zane Downey, who posted a 1-over-par 71 to finish tied for sixth overall in a competitive field of more than 60 golfers. Downey's round placed him among the top performers in an event headlined by William Woods' Leland Nardy, who earned medalist honors with a 68.
The Eagles placed three additional golfers inside the top 25. Peyton Taylor and Keenan James each carded rounds of 74 to finish tied for 20th, while Brayden Loftin added a 75 to tie for 26th.
Rounding out the CMU men's results, Brock Jenkins recorded a 78 (T-36), followed by Alvin Braemhagen with a 79 (T-40). Rocco Amoia and Atticus Brandes each finished tied for 51st with rounds of 82, while Travis Allen shot an 89 to place 58th. Noah Caldwell closed out the Eagles' lineup with a 92, tying for 60th.
On the women's side, Lauren Williams captured individual medalist honors with a round of 80.
Kyambria Acy tied for second after shooting an 84, while Ella Martin placed fourth with an 87. Karrington Harrell rounded out the top-five finishes for CMU with a 91 to claim fifth place.
Raylee Young also competed for the Eagles, finishing eighth with a round of 123.
Central will next compete in the Missouri Valley Spring Invitational beginning Monday, April 20th at 9:00 a.m. in Marshall, Mo.
