Kansas City, Mo. - After posting another perfect week, the Central Methodist women's soccer program remains at No. 8 in the third edition of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, released by the national office Wednesday morning.
Other Heart programs featured in the Top 25 include; No. 17 Missouri Valley and No. 22 Benedictine. The Eagles currently boast a 5-1 overall mark through six games, of which all five victories have been shut outs. Collectively, Central has outscored its opponents 30-2, including an 11-0 route of Mount Mercy this past Saturday.
Central's 30 goals scored lead the Heart of America Athletic Conference, along with assists (23), and points (83). Senior midfielder Andrea Villar leads the team in goals scored with 11, a new career-high, while sophomore Sandra Jakobsen has dished out a team best eight assists.
Central continues road competition in the Heart with a trip to Evangel University Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 5:00 p.m. in Springfield, Mo.
