Kansas City, Mo. - After leading the No. 5 Eagles to their third and fourth consecutive shut outs this past week, junior defender Laura Riesenbeck was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.
This marks the second time Riesenbeck has received Heart Weekly honors, as she was also recognized back on Sept. 20.
The Beverstedt, Germany native anchored Central's defensive backline to back-to-back shut outs over MidAmerica Nazarene and Baker. In addition, Riesenbeck also tallied a goal against the Pioneers, her second of the season.
Central currently boasts an overall record of 10-1 and a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play, with nine of the ten wins being shut outs.
CMU will next host Grand View University in a rescheduled match Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Davis Field.
