No. 5 Central completes perfect conference slate with 6-0 shut out of Park

Parkville, Mo. - Behind five first-half goals, the No. 5 Central Methodist women's soccer team defeated Park University 6-0 in the regular-season finale Saturday afternoon in Parkville, Mo.

With the victory, Central finishes the regular season with a 16-1 overall record and a perfect 12-0 mark in conference action. The Eagles have not lost a regular-season Heart match since Oct. 10, 2020, extending their conference winning streak to 21 matches.

The Pirates conclude the 2021 season with a 2-10-1 overall record and 2-10 in the Heart.

Sandra Jakobsen and Andrea Villar opened up the scoring with back-to-back goals just 30 seconds apart in the first seven minutes of action.

Villar tallied her 23rd goal of the year in the 23rd minute unassisted, pushing Central's lead to 3-0. Roneisha Frank followed with the fourth goal of the match less than two minutes later on a header off a deflection.

Sophomore defender Alicia Zamora added to CMU's lead with a goal in the 35th minute unassisted. CMU would enter the halftime break with a commanding 5-0 advantage.

Zamora sealed the 6-0 victory with her second goal of the match of the assist from Kitti Torok in the 57th minute.

Overall, the Central offense tallied 22 total shots compared to just six for the Pirates. Villar moved up to No. 4 on the CMU all-time single-season goal-scoring list with 23 goals in 17 matches. She finished the afternoon with three shots, two shots on goal, and a brace.

Frank led the offense with four total shots and a goal scored while Marcella Helena also tallied three shots and recorded an assist.

The Eagles have earned the No. 1 overall seed in the conference tournament and will face the No. 8 seed Saturday, Nov. 6 at 6:00 p.m. at Davis Field. The conference tournament bracket will be released by the Heart office at the conclusion of Sunday's matches.
