Barreto Named Heart Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time this season, Central Methodist sophomore forward Mariana Barreto has been named the Heart of America Women's Soccer Player of the Week, which was announced by the conference office Monday.

Barreto had a stellar week for the Eagles, as the native of Valencia, Venezuela registered back-to-back hat tricks against both Park and Mount Mercy.

She scored her six goals in only 10 shot attempts, as Central defeated Park 6-1 and Mount Mercy 5-0.

In just eight games played this season, Barreto has scored seven goals.

Barreto and the Eagles will next host No. 19 MidAmerica Nazarene University Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Davis Field.
