For the third time this season, the Central Methodist University volleyball team defeated Stephens College. The Lady Eagles earned a four-game win over Stephens Thursday night, 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Senior Viola Rotich (Eldoret, Kenya) led Central Methodist with a double-double of 17 kills and 10 blocks. She hit .652 in the match. Junior Erica LaBoube (Berger, Mo.) finished with 13 kills, while junior Nikki Torno (St. Louis, Mo.) added nine. Torno also had a team-high three ace serves in the match. Freshman Sophie Whitesell (Lockwood, Mo.) recorded 24 assists, while sophomore Brenda Campbell (Pineville, Mo.) had 15. Defensively, freshman Hannah Babcock (Columbia, Mo.) had a team-high 15 digs, while sophomore Melanie Touchette (Millstadt, Ill.) finished with 12.

Central Methodist is scheduled to play three matches this weekend in Baldwin City, Kan. The Lady Eagles will take on Baker University in a Heart of America Athletic Conference match at 7:30 p.m. Friday following the junior varsity match. On Saturday afternoon, CMU will play in the Baker quadrangular, facing College of the Ozarks at 1 and Haskell Indian Nations at 3.
